What is a digipak?

What is a digipak?

A digipak is a book style (gatefold) CD cover that is made of card instead of the typical plastic CD packaging. It includes one, sometimes more, plastic trays inside to hold the CD in place. A digipak can have either a four or six template, the six template allows room for more pictures or artwork whereas the four template consists of an album cover, a picture to support the tracklist at the back, a backing picture behind where the CD is held and a picture on the opposite position to this.
The artist typically uses portraits of themselves on  their digipak but others sometimes choose to have artwork to accompany their album to reflect the genre of album and give the audience a broader idea of what they can expect.

We will use a six template for our digipak to show more of the artist's personality and to highlight our variation of locations used in our own music video which will give the audience a greater insight into what is to come and the versatility of the artist.
